Fried Rice

Ingredients

  • 300g or 12 oz long-grain rice
  • 30ml or 2 tbsps of peanut oil
  • 30ml or 2 tbsps of soy sauce
  • ½ spring onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg beaten
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Preparation

Cook the rice in boiling water for about 10-12 minutes, until tender but not too soft. Then drain and set aside to cool down.

Heat the peanut oil in a wok and pour in the beaten egg and mix the egg until they are in small pieces. Add the rice and spring onions, add the soy sauce and continue to cook until the rice is slightly golden brownfor about 5 minutes, ensuring not to burn the rice. It is important that you turn the rice several times. This will provent the rice from burning. Season with salt, pepper and the sesame oil and serve.
